The exciting force of a vibration motor (also known as centrifugal force or vibrating force) is the resultant of the periodic centrifugal forces generated by the rotating eccentric blocks within the motor. It is the core parameter driving the equipment to vibrate, measured in kN (kilonewtons).

I. Essence of Exciting Force

The exciting force is the vector sum of the inertial centrifugal forces produced due to the mass offset of the rotating eccentric blocks. Its direction changes periodically with rotation, causing the equipment to vibrate along specific trajectories (linear, circular, elliptical, etc.).

II. Calculation Formula

The basic formula for calculating the exciting force F is:

F = m ⋅ e ⋅ ω²

Where:

F: Exciting force (unit: N, typically converted to kN; 1 kN = 1000 N)

m: Mass of a single eccentric block (unit: kg)

e: Eccentricity of the eccentric block (unit: m, the distance between the centroid of the eccentric block and the rotational axis)

ω: Angular velocity (unit: rad/s), calculated as ω = (2πn)/60, where n is the motor speed in rpm (revolutions per minute).

III. Methods for Adjusting Exciting Force

Vibration motors (such as the VB series) typically adjust the exciting force by changing the relative angle between the eccentric blocks at both ends:

Fully aligned eccentric blocks: Maximum exciting force (100%)

Symmetrically opposite eccentric blocks: Exciting force cancels out to 0
