Why should we use a DC motor and gearbox, instead of a DC Motor?

A lot of battery-operated equipment use DC motor for transmission. Based on high rotation speed—typically 3000-6000 RPM under load—DC motors are usually matched with a gearbox. Without the gearbox, the shaft speed of DC motors often exceeds the requirements of most applications. Since many applications require a controllable shaft speed output, many DC motors are paired with mechanical gearboxes.
