For core features of the drip irrigation system, they are low pressure, small flow and precise water delivery, which aims to deliver water directly to the plant root area at a slow and steady drip rate to achieve efficient use of water resources and precise irrigation.

For large central pivot irrigation systems, the long irrigation arms need to maintain a stable speed and power transmission during rotation, which places extremely high demands on the reliability and continuous output capacity of the gearbox.

The load capacity in the irrigation system mainly comes from the starting resistance of the water pump, the friction resistance of the water flow in the pipe, the power required for the rotation of the sprinkler head, etc. When selecting a gearbox, it is necessary to ensure that it has sufficient load capacity and appropriate torque output characteristics to cope with these complex load conditions.

In actual irrigation operations, different working conditions require different water flow rates and nozzle rotation speeds. For example, when the soil is relatively dry, a larger amount of water and a faster nozzle rotation speed may be required to quickly wet the soil surface. The speed ratio design of the gearbox should be able to flexibly meet the needs of these different stages, so that the speed of the water pump and the rotation speed of the nozzle can be optimized according to the actual irrigation needs.

Irrigation systems usually operate for a long time in harsh outdoor environmental conditions, facing the influence of many adverse factors such as wind, sun, rain, dust, temperature changes, and chemical corrosion. Therefore, the durability and construction quality of the gearbox are directly related to the reliability and service life of the entire irrigation system.
