Working conditions:
1. The worm speed of the worm gear reducer cannot exceed 2000r/min.
2. The working environment temperature is -40 °C - +40 °C. When the working environment temperature is lower than 0 °C, the lubricating oil must be heated to above 0 °C before starting. When the working environment temperature is higher than 40 °C, cooling measures must be taken.

3. The worm gear reducer can be rotated in positive and negative directions.

What is the difference between a worm gearbox and a helical gearbox

1. Structure

Worm Gear Reducer: Composed of a worm (similar to a screw) and a worm wheel. The threaded worm meshes with the teeth of the worm wheel, and the axes of both components are typically perpendicular.

Helical Gear Reducer: Uses helical gears, where the teeth are angled relative to the gear axis. Available in single helical and double helical (herringbone) configurations, and the gear axes can be either parallel or at an angle.

2. Gear Ratio

Worm Gear Reducer: A single-stage worm gear can achieve a high gear ratio, ranging from 10:1 to 100:1 or even higher, making it ideal for applications requiring significant speed reduction in a compact space.

Helical Gear Reducer: Single-stage gear ratios typically range from 3:1 to 10:1, though multi-stage configurations can achieve higher ratios. However, the overall ratio is usually lower than that of single-stage worm gear reducers.

3. Efficiency

Worm Gear Reducer: Efficiency is relatively low, especially at high gear ratios, due to significant sliding friction, which generates heat. Efficiency typically ranges from 30% to 90%.

Helical Gear Reducer: More efficient, with low rolling contact friction. When designed and lubricated well, the efficiency can reach between 95% and 98%.
