Maintenance Methods of Cycloidal Gear Motor
1. Lubrication and Oil Replacement
For new cycloidal pinwheel reducers, replace the gear oil after the first 100 running hours to remove internal impurities and metal particles. For subsequent maintenance, change oil every 3 to 6 months under continuous operating conditions, and every 6 to 12 months for intermittent operation.
It is recommended to use 46# to 68# extreme pressure gear oil for standard working environments. Select 32# gear oil for low-temperature working conditions and 100# gear oil for high-temperature environments. Always keep the oil level at the middle position of the oil gauge; neither overfilling nor underfilling is allowed to ensure normal lubrication and heat dissipation.
2. Daily Routine Inspection
Check the reducer regularly for oil leakage, abnormal operating noise, excessive vibration and abnormal temperature rise. The allowable temperature rise of the reducer is no more than 40°C above the ambient temperature. Fasten loose mounting bolts and check the tightness of couplings and transmission parts regularly.
Keep the output shaft seal and surrounding area clean at all times to prevent dust, dirt and sundries from entering the interior of the reducer, which may cause wear and component damage.
3. Sealing and Leakage Prevention
The oil seal is a vulnerable part. It is recommended to replace the aging, hardened or worn oil seal every 1 to 2 years to avoid oil leakage. For vertically installed reducers, strictly control the oil level to prevent excessive oil pressure from squeezing the oil seal and causing persistent leakage.
Check the sealing gaskets of the end cover and oil plug regularly. Replace damaged gaskets in time to ensure the tightness of the whole machine.
4. Regular Internal Component Inspection
Conduct a comprehensive internal inspection once a year. Check the lubrication state and wear degree of bearings, observe the wear, pitting and crack conditions of pin teeth and cycloidal discs, and measure the internal matching clearance.
If excessive wear, enlarged clearance, abnormal pitting or continuous abnormal noise during operation is found, replace the damaged accessories immediately to avoid equipment failure and extended damage.
5. Operating Condition Management
Strictly prohibit overload operation, frequent forward and reverse rotation, and long-term low-speed variable-frequency operation. The reducer needs to be derated properly when running at low speed with VFD drive to prevent overheating and premature aging of parts.
The applicable ambient temperature of the reducer is -20°C to +40°C. For dusty, humid or corrosive working environments, configure high-level protective measures such as IP65 protection grade to extend the service life of the equipment.
6. Long-term Shutdown and Storage Maintenance
For reducers that are out of service for a long time, drain the old internal gear oil completely and refill with fresh lubricating oil. Coat the oil seal and exposed shaft with anti-rust grease for anti-corrosion protection.
Store the reducer in a dry, clean and ventilated environment. Manually rotate the output shaft regularly every 3 months to prevent internal parts from rusting, sticking and seizing.
