Maintenance Tips for Conveyor Motor

Conveyor motors, as critical components in conveyor systems, require regular maintenance to ensure their smooth operation and extend their service life. Here are some comprehensive maintenance tips for conveyor motors:

Keep the Environment Clean and Dry

Ensure the motor's operating environment is dry, well-ventilated, and free from dust, fibers, and other obstructions.

Regularly clean the motor's surface to prevent dust accumulation.

Pre-Operation Checks

Before starting the motor, check the power supply, frequency converter, and motor for any abnormalities.

Ensure the ventilation system is functioning correctly before starting the motor.

Lubrication

Maintain good lubrication for the motor during operation.

Regularly replenish or replace lubrication grease, typically every 4000 hours of operation or sooner if bearing overheating or grease deterioration is observed.

Use gasoline to clean the bearings and bearing cover oil grooves before replacing the grease.

Bearing Replacement

When the bearing life is over and the motor's vibration and noise significantly increase, replace the bearings.

Motor Disassembly and Assembly

When disassembling the motor, choose to remove the rotor from either the shaft extension end or the non-shaft extension end, preferably from the shaft extension end for convenience, but be careful not to damage the stator winding or insulation.

When replacing windings, record the original winding form, size, number of turns, wire gauge, etc., and do not change the original design without permission.
