(1) High level, high performance. Cylindrical gears are generally carburized, hardened and grinded, their bearing capacity is increased by more than 4 times, and their volume is small, weight is light, noise is low, efficiency is high and reliability is high.
(2) Modular combination design. The basic parameters adopt the priority number, the dimensions and specifications are neat, the parts are universal and interchangeable, the series is easy to expand and the pattern is renovated, which is helpful to organize the mass production and reduce the cost.
(3) Diversified types, with many variation designs. Get rid of the traditional single base mounting way, add hollow shaft hanging type, floating support base, motor and reducer integrated connection, multi-azimuth mounting surface and other different types, expand the use range.
The main factors that promote the improvement of the speed reducer are:
(1) With the improvement of theoretical knowledge, it is closer to reality (such as gear strength calculation method, modification technology, deformation calculation, optimization design method, smooth transition of a tooth root, new structure, etc.).
(2) the use of good materials, the general use of a variety of high-quality alloy steel forgings, materials and heat treatment quality control level.
(3) The structural design is more reasonable.
(4) The processing precision improves to ISO5-6 level.
(5) Improved bearing quality and service life.
(6) Improvement of lubricating oil quality.
Since the 1960s, our country has formulated jB1130-70 "Cylindrical Gear reducer" and other general reducer standards, in addition to the main machine factory self-made supporting use, but also formed a number of reducer professional manufacturers. At present, the national production of hundreds of reducer enterprises, the annual output of the general reducer 250,000 units or so, to the development of China's mechanical products have made a contribution.
Most of the decelerators in the 1960s were made by referring to the technology of the Soviet Union in the 1940s and 1950s. Although they have been developed since then, their overall level lags far behind the international level due to the limited design, technological level, and equipment conditions at that time.

The quality of materials and heat treatment and the machining precision of gears are greatly improved. The manufacturing precision of universal cylindrical gears can be improved from 8-9 of JB179-60 to 6 of GB10095-88, and the manufacturing precision of high-speed gears can be stabilized at 4-5. Part of the reducer with a hard tooth surface, the volume and quality are significantly reduced, bearing capacity, service life, transmission efficiency has been greatly improved, to save energy and improve the overall level of the main engine plays a great role.
The power of high-speed gear reducer designed and manufactured in China has reached 42000kW, and the speed of gear circumference has reached 150m/s. However, the technical level of most speed reducers in Our country is not high, the old products cannot be replaced immediately, the transition of the coexistence of new and old products will experience a long period of time.
